Ergonomic Transport of Heavy ICU Beds

Client: ARJO

The Challenge

Loading heavy ICU beds safely and quickly

ARJO needed a way to transport heavy, bulky ICU beds in vans ergonomically and safely, with loads of up to 950 kg. Conventional solutions were cumbersome, time-consuming and carried risks – for staff and for expensive equipment alike. Uneven ground, varying bed widths and tight spaces in urban delivery areas made the task particularly demanding. Deliveries also have to reach underground car parks, which ruled out larger vehicles.

The Solution

ANYLIFT as a flexible transport solution for medical technology

Working closely with ARJO, we developed the ANYLIFT lift loading system specifically for the safe and ergonomic transport of ICU beds – a solution that did not exist in this form until then. The system allows controlled, fast and reliable loading and unloading at the push of a button, and it can be fitted into the vehicle within a few hours. The van’s entire loading space extends and lowers to ground level, so there is no need to step inside it. Load securement is handled comfortably and ergonomically from outside the vehicle, using the lashing points built into the ANYLIFT.

Key benefits:

  • Ergonomic, safe handling even for heavy loads (up to 1,200 kg)
  • Intuitive two-button operation
  • Highly flexible in tight spaces and on uneven ground
  • Saves time and staff – one person can operate it

“We were looking for an innovative transport solution for heavy bed systems – and with ANYLIFT we found it. Thank you.”

The Result

Maximum safety and efficiency in daily use

ANYLIFT noticeably reduces the time needed for every loading and unloading cycle. Staff are relieved of physical strain, workplace safety improves, and the risk of transport damage is minimised. For ARJO, the result is a clear gain in efficiency and better ergonomics.
